Elloyd A. Hauser founded United Check Clearing Corporation (UCCC) in 1984 offering check processing and depository services to organizations that received high volumes of low dollar checks. In the fall of 1988, UCCC added corporate payment services to the service portfolio for organizations that issued high volumes of low-value checks.

1990 marked the beginning of a shift in strategic thinking for UCCC. The main shift came when the company decided to vertically integrate the check processing component of the corporate payment services. UCCC developed software, designed systems, and moved the processing functions in-house. In 1994, the same vertical move was made on the depository side of the business.

Over the years, UCCC's growth resulted in the creation of a new category within the financial services industry. By 1998, our clients were telling us that we offered more than just check processing services — we offered transaction solutions. As a result, the company changed its name to Solutran (Customized Payment Solutions).

From the beginning, Solutran has grown to provide a complete spectrum of customized solutions including return item services, online capabilities, electronic commerce, electronic conversion, disbursement and depository services, and alternative checking applications. Today, over 130 million financial transactions are managed by Solutran for American's finest companies and organizations.
