SOLUTRAN REPORTS A 34 PERCENT MARKET SHARE OF BACK OFFICE CONVERSION VOLUME

 

Minneapolis – (January 3, 2008) – Solutran reports a 34 percent market share of industry Back Office Conversion (BOC) volume for the quarter ending September 30, 2007. BOC is a check conversion payment process launched by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) in March 2007. NACHA recently released BOC’s national processing volumes for the third quarter at 840,743 transactions.

“We are really just getting started,” stated Barry Nordstrand, Solutran president and CEO. “This volume comes from just a few national merchant pilots. The coming quarters will see significant growth as these merchants continue to rollout and new clients begin implementation.”

Most of Solutran’s share can be attributed to its patent-pending BOC solution, SPIN™. SPIN: Solutran’s POS and Imaging Network is an approach to BOC that requires no capital expenditure, takes advantage of a merchant’s existing infrastructure, and has low impact on operations. Check depository information is captured in the merchant’s current POS system and checks are then forwarded to Solutran’s centralized processing center for imaging, archiving, and destruction.

“Clients find our new SPIN™ product particularly compelling because it does not require the purchase of check scanning equipment,” added Kari Hawkins, National Sales Manager.
