Multiple Options for Making Re-Presented Check Entry (RCK) Even More Profitable
As part of our comprehensive returns solution, Solutran offers service fee recovery options* to enhance your recovery efforts and increase your bottom line. By increasing recovery up-front as part of your RCK program, you can avoid the time and expense of sending these items to collection agencies. With average clear rates of up to 80 percent, service fee recovery gives you a potential revenue source and provides a way to offset bad debt.

Service Fee Recovery Options

Double PostCard
Solutran's Double PostCard (DPC) product is an innovative and consumer-friendly way to more effectively recover service fees on your returned items. Once your RCK items change to a cleared status, a double postcard is automatically triggered to print and is mailed directly to your customer(s). Consumers sign the postage-paid postcards and drop them in the mail, thereby authorizing an electronic debit from their checking account via the ACH network.

The DPC is designed to promote good will between you and your customers. Most consumers do not intentionally write bad checks, and are, therefore, anxious to clear their names and accounts to good standing. With DPC, recovery is handled quickly and discreetly — an advantage to both you and your customers.

Electronic Service Fee Recovery
With Electronic Service Fee, service fees are electronically debited from your customers' accounts on your behalf through the ACH network.

Electronic Service Fee is easy to implement as an enhancement to Solutran's RCK service. At point of sale, merchants must notify customers that a service fee for returned items may be electronically withdrawn from their account, obtain a signature for authorizing this service, and provide a notification slip to consumers. Returned items are electronically re-presented through the ACH system. Once the RCK items have successfully cleared, the service fee is debited directly from the consumer's account through a separate transaction.

With clear rates of up to 80 percent, Solutran's Electronic Service Fee offers you the industry's most advanced, comprehensive solution to hassles of conventional service fee recovery.

Draft for Service Fee Recovery
Draft for Service Fee Recovery gives our clients an additional opportunity to recover service fee revenue on cleared RCK items. Once the RCK items has cleared, a paper draft is generated on behalf of our customer for the service fee amount. This process requires no consumer signature at the point of sale; it does, however, require notification at the point of sale.

As an enhancement to the Draft for Service Fee product, Solutran also offers an option for you to provide additional consumer notification. You may choose to use Solutran's Draft for Service Fee Notification product to reiterate your check cashing policy to your consumers.

With Draft Notification, a postcard is printed and mailed notifying the consumer that their account is being drafted for the returned check fee as allowed by law.

Customized Reporting
Solutran's Online Account Reporting (SOAR) system provides immediate Internet-based access to your account information. With SOAR, you can access our comprehensive reporting package, view images of source documents, and monitor details of returned items.
