Position Summary

This position is for a Senior DBA to support Solutran’s  Oracle 18c database environments and associated Linux Infrastructure in a high availability environment. This position has a secondary role providing assistance and support for all other technologies within the Solutran environments. The support for these environments includes, but is not limited to, Oracle Database Administration, Linux System Administration, and the associated technology stack in a multi-tier environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Primary administrator for all Oracle database systems
    • Handles the installation, configuration and maintenance of databases, including patch applications, database moves, reorganizations, ad-hoc backups and restores, implementation and recommended tuning actions including parameter changes, data file management, problem detection and resolution, and user management.
  • Primary administrator for all Linux Systems
    • Operating System Management, including but not limited to, building, installing, patching, troubleshooting of file system, storage management, operating system tuning (hardening), disk, CPU, memory, NIC, and user management for all environments including production.
  • Provide Operations support and technical assistance to users as needed.
  • Assist in supporting all other technologies within Solutran’s infrastructure.
  • Provide off-hours support and maintenance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two or Four-year college or university program certificate in related field, or equivalent job experience.
  • Unix/Linux Administration
  • Oracle Database 12c/18c administration experience
  • Oracle Data Guard experience
  • SQL Server administration experience a plus
  • Windows Server 2008/2012 R2/2016 experience
  • Strong ability to learn
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Accurate and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Other skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities as listed
  • Required Technology:
    • Unix/Linux Administration
